Shaw's Crab House
What can I say about Shaw' Crab House http://www.shawscrabhouse.com/ ....I can sum it up with one word....FABULOUS! If you want the full experience you need to go to the original Shaw's which is located downtown Chicago at 215 E. Hubbard. The whole experience is great. From the moment you walk in you feel like you have stepped back in time. I suggest sitting down at the bar before you are seated just to take it all in and have a drink. I ordered an apple martini and my husband ordered a vodka martini. The bartender heard it was our anniversary so he made us a special martini called the Elderdlower: Hendricks Gin, St. Germain (Elderflower liquor), lemon juice, lime juice and mint. By the time we got to our table we were a little tipsy and needless to say money was no object. We immediatly orderd the Cold Appetizer Combo: blue crab claws, alaskan king crab, shrimp and oysters. Each bite melts in your mouth. We kept joking saying to eachother that each bite was like eating the ocean itself. For the entree I ordered the Fresh Seasonal Crab Combo: softshell crab, maryland style crab cake and alasakan king crab legs. My husband orderd The Signature: alaskan king crab legs and a 6 oz. filet. Side dishes come al la carte so we split a baked potatoe and pureed butternut squash. We ate everything! I kept telling the waiter that the meal was too good to wrap up and take home. To me seafood never tastes better the next day. So we sat there for a few hours and finished everything on our plates! The waiter knew it was our anniversary and he wanted to bring us dessert...but we had to decline due to the fact that we were about to explode! So he brought us an after dinner drink of our choice. If you ever want to celebrate a special even and money is no object...please go to Shaw's and enjoy and memorable experience.
