Brasserie Jo ( http://www.brasseriejo.com/ ) is located at 59 W. Hubbard. It is a restaraunt that specializes in French cuisine. We were planning on attending a October Beer Event that took place there from 6 to 8 (for $22.00), but we did not arrive there until 7:00 and thought we would have a drink at the bar instead. My husband had a few Chimays, a beer from Beligium. I orderd a "French Riviera" martini: pineapple juice, chambord, vodka and champagne. The drinks were great! The atmoshere was very relaxing. We sat next to a gentleman who was dining by himself that is a chef in Canada. He had ordered a 1/2 chicken dish with "frites". When it arrived we almost cancelled our dinner reservations we had at Shaw's because his food smelled and looked so good! We did not feel like it was pretentious at all like some french restaraunts can be. Also, the place was packed...which means people know about this place and are coming back for the food! The next time we are in the city we plan to dine here as well. It is located on Hubbard in an area where there are many more bars/restaraunts that you can go to. Rockit is right down the street as well as Howl at the Moon, Shaws, and a martini bar.
